Your sessions, debriefs, notes, action cards and skills profile are saved in your own browser's local storage, on your device. They are not sent to us or anyone else. Clearing your browser data deletes them permanently. We keep a simple count of page visits (which page, when), with no personal details attached.
Some editions run practice groups (for example, a cohort from a workshop). You'll know you're in one because the app asks for your first name once. From then on, when you finish a rehearsal, the app sends only that session's results to our database:
What is never sent: the conversation itself, your written reflections, your notes, and anything you type or say during a rehearsal. Those stay on your device, visible only to you.
Your facilitator or school leader sees group progress: names, session counts, and confidence ratings. They cannot see any conversation, and neither can we.
To make the simulated parent talk and reply, the text of the conversation is processed in the moment by our service providers (Anthropic for the parent's replies, ElevenLabs for the spoken voice). This processing is transient: we do not store conversations on any server, and our providers are engaged on terms that do not permit using this content to train their models. If you use speech input, your microphone audio is transcribed by your own browser's built-in speech recognition.
Group results are stored in a secured database (hosted with Supabase) that permits writing results in but blocks all direct reading. Group summaries can only be retrieved with a private access key held by the group's facilitator.
Practice groups are optional; the same app works fully without joining one. To have your group results corrected or deleted, email us with your first name and group, and we'll action it promptly.
